Toyota I-Real Is For Real
For those of you who haven’t heard of the Toyota I-Real, well it’s not just another product with a letter “I” preceding it. The Toyota I-Real is a new single seat concept car developed by the Toyota Corporation. It is Toyota’s answer to the growing demand for compact, more energy efficient personal urban mode of transportation. At first it looks like a sleek, space age ‘Geriatric Chair’ on steroids, but there are some cool features that makes the I-Real unique. The I-Real is a hand operated vehicle controlled by levers at each hand for accelerating and breaking and steering, and can reach a brisk speed of 30 Kph or about 18.6 mph. It also uses sensors to detect perilous objects, and alert the driver through noise and vibration when a collision is imminent.
If Large Corporations get in on the action, you may start seeing the use of the I-Real expand to transporting employees within large factories, Police Forces and Mail Transportation to name a few.
Regardless of the success of the I-Real, the future of transportation is turning a new corner in it’s evolution, and one day personal transportation vehicles may be the norm and not the exception.
