As long as there have been people there have been attempts to label things and drawing ideals on what is the best, prettiest, nicest, wonderful etc seems to be a human trait. People are just not happy until they’ve subjectively chosen that which they think should be labeled as the most beautiful.
Yesterday I wrote about the selection of the New 7 Wonders Of The World that took place back in 2007, one company’s attempt to bring the seven wonders of the world into the modern age. Smart marketing professionals no doubt saw this as a way of making earning some good bank while proclaiming to be helping the world in appreciating beauty. As far as I’m concerned, this is blatant and cheap marketing with absolute no value, rhyme or reason, but I acknowledge that there are many of you out there that need to be told what to love, what to admire and what to add value to, so this one goes out to you.
If you missed out on the voting for that event, don’t despair, the same people that brought us the new Seven Wonders now taking votes for the The New Seven Wonders of Nature. You can vote online here. The following images are a small sampling of the more popular Wonders of Nature. From Top to bottom:
- Victoria Falls, ZAMBIA/ ZIMBABWE
- Mount Everest, CHINA/ NEPAL
- Ha Long Bay, VIET NAM
- Chocolate Hills, PHILIPPINES
