In an attempt to bring the 7 Wonders Of The World up to date, the NewOpenWorld Foundation announced the New 7 Wonders Of The World back in 2007. Using Web based polling and Phone voting, 100 million votes were tallied and the winners were announced in Lisbon Portugal in a dazzling show at the Lisbon’s Benfica Stadium. Hosting the event was Actresses Hilary Swank and Bipasha Basu and actor Ben Kingsley.

Here are the New 7 Wonders Of The World as selected by the people in 2007:

Petra (9 B.C. - 40 A.D.), Jordan JORDAN

The Statue of Zeus
The Colossus of Rhodes
The Hanging Gardens of Babylon
The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus
The Pyramids of Egypt

Many will disagree with this list, for example, Selecting Christ Redeemer over the Egyptian Pyramids is a bit of a stretch, in our opinion. That said, it was based on popular vote, so we can say that these are the 7 Wonders chosen by the people.
