How To Disable Standby Or Hibernate Mode In Windows XP
The following steps will assist you in turning off the auto-standby and/or auto-hibernate on your Windows XP.
- Launch the Control Panel
- If you are in Classic View, find the Power Options Icon
and Double Click. If you are In Category View, click the Performance And Maintenance and then click on Power Options. - Under the Power Schemes Tab, set the Standby and/or Hibernate Options to Never.

- Click Apply/Ok and your done.

Desk top Computer with xp goes quickly to screen saver and then to my pictures.
I can seem to stop it sleeping hibernating going to standby even when i put all the power settings to never. It does not seem to act on these settings.
what can i do?
John, it sounds like the issue is your screen saver not the hibernate mode.
