Desk top Computer with xp goes quickly to screen saver and then to my pictures.
I can seem to stop it sleeping hibernating going to standby even when i put all the power settings to never. It does not seem to act on these settings.
what can i do?

John, it sounds like the issue is your screen saver not the hibernate mode.
I’ll be making a post tonight showing how to disable screen saver.

To anonymous.. I echo your sentiments exactly! Very well put.. was hoping though to find an answer, as it has been driving me crazy that I set every setting I can find to NO STANDBY… ALWAYS ON… etc… but no matter what I do… some way or other, it winds up in standby…

Someone.. PLEASE… how to disable the whole standby function at the root or base of it.. if at all possible… any info would be extremely helpful and very much appreciated…

tia…

to JD:
look who’s talking :-) The headline is about turning off standby&hib. The tip given is for turning off auto-standby&hib, not turning off standby&hib, which the guys/gals nicely pointed out. What about that is beyond your understanding? What was that fitting word that you used?

When computer runs it automatically goes to standby mode though I have done hibernate option to Never in power Option as stated above. What will be done to inactivate automatically standby mode.
