As well as having up to date Anti-Virus software installed, it is important that you strengthen your computer’s security further by setting up a firewall.

Personal home firewalls are programs that you install onto your computer to assist in preventing malicious intrusions. Firewalls help keep your computer’s contents safe from mischievous Imps, intent on sabotaging your good times, by regulating the flow of traffic to and from your computer. Only programs that you’ve trusted to access the internet will be allowed to do so, and unauthorized programs trying to access your computer will be stopped. Although, a personal firewall isn’t a foolproof method of preventing intrusions, it will make it harder for the evil villains to harass you.
