Goodbye Google, Hello Live.com: My Reason’s For Ditching Google
Finding relevant information on Google has become harder and harder to do. Lately, I’ve found the first 10 pages of any Google search to be laced with the usual culprits, often quite ‘Spammy‘ in content. I often have to browse to the 40+ page to find relevant content.
Because of this, I’ve decided to give Microsoft’s Live Search a try, and I have been pleasantly surprised.
I’ve found more relevant search results using Live Search, including better news results and over-all better content. I’ve also found its image searches to be much more comprehensive. With the aid of the ‘related links’ section off to the right side, I find that I get more relevant search results faster.
Is Google getting too fat and lazy? Are they putting the bottom line ahead of content? Or is Live Search just getting better? Whatever the case may be, it is my opinion that the time is right for new search engines to come into the scene.
Although Live Search has a long way to go before it becomes my favorite thing, I think that it is a good alternative to Google. I will keep looking for that new search engine that will change the world, but until then, I’m sticking with Live Search.
