Often, when we need to pull up quick hard facts about our PC, such as the amount of Ram that is installed or amount of space available on each partition of the hard-drive, finding a tool that won’t leave you with a migraine isn’t always easy. There are dozens of programs that will gather a lot of information about your PC, including Microsoft’s own built in ‘System Information’ , but unfortunately you often need to be a computer geek to understand it all.
A cool program that I use to get the basic information from my PC is the Belarc Advisor. It is easy to use and understand, installs in minutes and when run, it displays the results onto a nicely formatted HTML page on your local disk. Since the test results are saved to an HTML file, it makes it convenient to share that information with others, such as your PC Tech. It’s an important tool to have at your disposal so that you can get a good quick overview of what is happening in your PC and best of all it’s completely free, and that is always a good thing.
