As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, file extensions, are the letters after the dot in a file name. The purpose of a File Extension PAC for example,is to help your Windows OS associate a specific program to that file, so that when you double click on a file, the appropriate program will launch.

A Extension PAC for example, is associated with a few programs, like Netscape Browser and video games like Spellbound Desperados: Wanted Dead/Alive game. The File Extension PAC is a shortened name that stands for the word Package.

As I’ve mentioned before, you often do not need to worry about file extension errors because your Operating system is usually pretty good at associating files with their respective programs. The problem occurs when you have a registry corruption issue that somehow messes up that connection. When that happens, Windows will basically shrug its shoulders and tell you that it has no Idea what to do.

When that happens, resolving the issue on your own can be a difficult one. Sure you could try to re-install the program, or do a system restore point on your computer, but there are times when doing these things are just not an option. Remember, these are just options in troubleshooting and no guarantee that you will fix your File Extension PAC issues. The alternative is to get a program that will fix your registry for you, and therefore resolving your issues immediately with least amount of harm done to your OS.
