I’ve said this a thousand times before, I love fun cool stuff. There’s something about bringing home a freshly packed gadget from the local gadget surplus store that makes me a happy camper. That said, I think that we often get carried away with technology. I mean, when does it end? Whether you’re purchasing a cool stuff for school or home, you can often purchase it online. I’m no stranger to online shopping, I do it often and I find it a real convenience, but there are just some purchases that I don’t trust to an online retailer, I need to physically get my hands on that gadget, whether it be a new USB device or cell phone accessory, online shopping just doesn’t cut if for me unless I’m already familiar with the product and all I’m doing is searching for the best price.

I know that most of us would prefer not to spend money and get free cool stuff, but that is frankly not going to happen often, and there are usually strings attached, and I hate strings. So stay away from the free stuff unless you know for a fact that you aren’t giving your life away. That said, there are tons of sites offering free stuff, and I for one avoid them like the plague, you may be different and if so, knock yourself out.

With the recession in full bloom, I’m going to be cutting back on computer hardware and gadgets this year. There is just not enough money going around it seems, and you don’t want to be caught with all this extra junk and an eviction notice from your landlord.

But, if I were to purchase new gadgetry this year, I would definitely be looking at stuff for around the house, like a new microwave or toaster. Yeah, I know, you’re probably thinking, “Get real, dude!”, but I am as honest as can be, I’m just trying to cut the junk factor a bit and just get back to reality for a bit, USB Gadgets, New Hard Drives, More Ram Memory is going to take a back seat to catering for me. So, here’s hoping that this year brings many cool stuff your way, and I hope it is a happy one for all of you.
