As you know, I love cool stuff. The cooler the better, I just love stuff with all the bells and whistles, I mean, what can be more useful than a wireless doorbell it’s just intellegent technology that will save you time and money. Some people call it junk, but I call it a thing of beauty. Why everyone doesn’t fully immerse oneself in a great pursuit like this is beyond me.
For me, there are just not enough gadgets around. In previous posts I’ve told you about cool stained briefs, USB toys, vehicles and all sorts of other Cool Stuff. Whether you are into Cool lava lamps to compliment your abstract ideas or simply like tweaking HTML for your cool websites. In the end it all boils down to a love of technology, and I for one, never take it for granted. Today, Cool Stuff also caters those in need of it, it is vital to our existence, whether it be for individuals with mobility impairments or a hockey player trying to up their game, technology is vital to us all.
Think about a simple telephone call that years ago was a distorted and expensive mess. Today, free technology provided by Skype, for example, let you speak with a loved one on the other side of the planet for free and with better quality.
Feel free to go through all of my previous articles to get an idea of the information technology solutions that I’m interested in, it isn’t always the latest stuff that intrigues me. The point is that you do not have to be passionate about technology, you only need to realize that it is important to how you live and then appreciate the beauty of it. My concept is based around my assumption that few people have a firm grasp on how vital technology really is. Many just see the useless junk that lines the walls of places like WalMart and assume that this is all there is to it. But technology is about much much more. It’s about the safety equipment in your vehicle that was tested and retested with the aim of saving lives. It’s about the navigation systems on airplanes, or the co-ordination of subways or traffic lights. Technology is vital to how our modern world operates and it is something that will be in our future. One day, mankind will not know what it is to live without technology. Yes, this isn’t always a good thing, and over-dependence on something can actually be the end of us all, but it is a reality. And our comfortable lifestyle is a testament to the engineers, software developers and every other Geek out there who have devoted their lives to creating technology.
Technology is hear to stay and I for one am glad. To quote the Borg, ‘Resistance is futile’
