I love technology information and the following tutorial will show you how to do a real cool trick with your PC.
This is a cool tip for those of you who prefer putting your computer in Standby mode rather than powering down. You can configure the power button on your computer to send Windows into standby mode easily. Here’s how it’s done.
- Click Start -> Control Panel -> Double Click Power Options

- Click the Advanced tab
- In the area that says “When I press the power button on my computer” -> Click Standby

- Click Apply -> OK
From now on, when you press the power button on your Computer it will go into Standby mode.

Please don’t use standby on a desktop pc… for the sake of computer technicians everywhere, if someone has an older device in their computer (or even a new device) that doesn’t like or work correctly with standby, you can end up with things not working correctly until you shutdown and restart the pc, which doesn’t really save much time in the end.
